If you want to organise a weekend away for a group of people in 2026, you will want to do something amazing together!
We host dozens of families, friend groups and hen weekends every year and these are the activities they tell us that they enjoy the most:
- Spend a day in the historic City of Bath. It’s difficult to capture in words how beautiful this world famous city really is! Visit the Roman Baths to see how hot volcanic springs were used 2000 years ago. Then follow in the steps of greats like Jane Austen and Mary Shelley and walk the incredible streets of Regency-era buildings.
- Visit Stonehenge or Avebury. See the ancient Neolithic stones set in fabulous landscapes. Imagine what they meant to people who dwelt here so long ago!

- Talk a walk above the Westbury White Horse. This massive chalk hill figure of a horse has inspired generations and is a favourite with children and adults alike. Above the horse is an iron age fort, the site of the most famous battle between Saxons and Vikings.
- Longleat Safari Park. The best place in the UK to see wild animals that are incredibly well cared for in comfortable living conditions. Lions, tigers, giraffes, hippos, gorillas… they’ve got them all!
- Bradford on Avon – A local historic gem of a town. Have a walk around and a coffee as you see the Tithe Barn, the Anglo Saxon church and other ancient buildings. If you’re feeling active, why not hire a canoe, learn to Paddle board or cycle along the tow path toward Bath?
- Why not stay in one of our gorgeous large cottages at Cottages Near Bath, just half an hour’s drive from the City of Bath!?
Remember these are just popular highlights, there are lots more incredible places to visit locally, including castles, pirate harbours, Harry Potter’s cloister and more!
